Aydos Excursion Area
The Aydos Excursion area encircles the beautiful Aydos Hill. Here is an ideal ambiance for resting and sports. The fact that this outing area was used as a hunting place during the Ottoman Empire indicates the richness of the pine forest. The beauty of the hill, which takes 15 minutes to climb, is worth the effort. For people who want to watch the sun set this is an ideal location.
The pond in the outing area, which covers an area of six million six hundred and twenty square meters, with four different entrances, completes the ecological harmony of the area.
Getting here: Aydos can be reached from the Kartal – Yakacık and Sultanbeyli districts vie the E-5 highway (the main artery passing through Istanbul TEM highway. Public transportation can also be utilized.)

Ayvat Bendi (Ayvat Dam) Excursion Area
The dam is situated on the Ayvat Stream, which is one of the branches of the Kağıthane Stream. The historical dam, built during the reign of Sultan Mustafa III in 1765, is 13.45 meter high. The resevior that rest among the small hills offers one of the best view of the Belgrad Forest. The existence of many wild animals means that this is a place of ecologicical importance. In addition to being an important location from a natural and photogrphic perspective, there are suitable areas for picnics. Here there are a number of waterways that were constructed for the city of Istanbul in the Ottoman Period; the Kurtkemeri aqueduct also attracts a lot of attention.
