The Manyas Bird is located between the banks of the Bandırma county of Balikesir and between the Uludağ and the Biga peninsula to the south of the Marmara Sea. The base of this collapse is the Birds and Uluabat lakes and the large plains around these lakes and the high mountains and highlands on the edges. The length of the lake extending east and west direction is 20 kilometers. The width is 15 kilometers. Manyas lake, a lake formed between the Gönen and Bursa depression, and the surface of this lake is 178 km2. The height from the sea is 15 meters. The depth of the lake is not more than 5 meters. Manyas lake is mixed with Kocaçay from south part. However, the skin is less strong and less. On the south-eastern side of the lake is the Kara Dere. This stream merges with the Susurluk River near Karaca Bey and is named after Kocadere. Also, the cattle ridge is pouring from the north side of the lake.
Manyas water is sweet, crayfish in the lake and 20 kinds of fish live. The most interesting aspect of the lake is the birds paradise where 2 – 3 million birds come to the north east coast every year. It was incorporated into the national park borders in 1959. Due to the fact that the land is very fertile, there is a considerable development in agriculture and animal husbandry in the district. It is possible to get the product twice a year from the wetland. Manyas is quite famous with its products grown on fertile soil, and its healing waters gushing from underground.
