Ordu is the begining point of Eastern Black Sea with its natural beauties. Mountains that form its general structure go through the sea in many areas. 450 meters high Boztepe is where the city can be watched panoramically.

Colonists of Miletus established city of Cotyora as a trade colony. Rock tombs which can be seen any many places of the city are interesting examples reached from other generations.

Mountainous and forestry structure of the city increase the importance of transhumance which is one of the most important alternative tourisms. Ordu is also one of the cities where hazelnut is grown a lot. Amon the historical buildings. Paşaoğlu mansion in the city center was built by Paşaoğlu Hüseyin Efendi in 1896. The building which is a beautiful civil architectural example of 19th century is converted into the Ethnography Museum.

Ünye (Castle) Kalesi : To the left of the Ünye Niksar Highway, on its 7th kilomater, in the Ünye district in the province of Ordu, it is a 2 thousand 500 year old fortress on the top of a volcanic hill. The step walls and cover positions established on steep slopes, with in the boundaries of Kale village, are stil standing. As the castle is very high compared to the surface of the surrounding environment, it was used as a place of protection during the 11th and 12th centruies. It is thought that the monumental gate was built during the reign of King Mithridates II of Pontus. There is a tetrasilisic rock tomb, which is 3 meters wide and 2 meter high, to the South East of the entrance. Three eagle shaped embossments can be seen at each corner of the tombs’s triangle.
