Binali Yıldırım was born in the province of “Refahiye” of Erzincan province of Turkey. Mr. Binali Yıldırım is Turkey’s 27th prime minister. Within his political career, the AKP began its mandate as May 26, 2016. Binali Yıldırım served as Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications between 2013 and 2016. He also counseled Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his political life in 2014-2015.
Binali Yıldırım was head of the Istanbul Sea buses union, without being elected to the Istanbul MPs of the AKP. It was later appointed to the Ministry of Transport during the 59th government established by Tayyip Erdogan. He has been involved in many projects such as “Marmaray” and “Rapid train” which enable Turkey to develop in transportation and service throughout his political career.
Binali Yıldırım had to give a brief break in his political life in 2013. Later, he became a candidate for mayor of İzmir, but he could not be elected. The AKP has not participated in the 2015 elections due to the rules it implements in itself. Later, in 2016, these rules were brought to the Ministry of Transport, Maritime and Communications as they were subject to change. He was elected prime minister of the 65th government on the extraordinary congress which took place after the resignation of Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. In the first months of the Prime Minister’s military coup attempt was made in the country.
