Tramvay and subway lines contribute to especially the transport in the Historical Peninsula and Taksim area. Istanbul Kart and tokens are used on tramway and subway lines. There are token sales kiosks at subway stations and busy tramway stops.
Marmaray rail line, opened in 2014, connects Europe and Asia continents with each other. Total lenght of the line between Kazlıçeşme and Ayrılık Çeşmesi is 13.6 km. The part of Marmaray going underneath the Bosphorus is 1.4 km. One can pass trough this part in short time as 4 minutes.
There are 5 passengers stations as Kazlıçeşme, Yenikapı, Sirkeci, Üsküdar and Ayrılık Çeşmesi, and the duration of the journey is 16 minutes. Marmaray line and Yenikapi- Haciosman metro lines are connected in Yenikapı. Thus, someone coming from Asia can pass on to Yenikapı- Haciosman line and continue the journey.
Kadikoy -Kartal Metro Line
This line serving between Kadikoy and Kartal was opened for service in 2012. The total lenght is 21.7 km and there are 16 passenger stations. Ayrilik Çeşmesi station is integrated witgh Marmaray. The journey is completed within 32 minutes.
